Another popular trend is to completely eliminate the need for a gift card by embossing the requisite details on the gift itself. This practice is common with gifts made of leather and wood.

Many online vendors that specialize in gift articles have a special section for gift cards, tags, and boxes. They often sell these items individually, but most often they are given as complimentary services when people buy gifts online. Many of these vendors also have personalization services on offer that can incorporate names and even pictures into the gift card.
